Launch
The Launch (2nd of Feb) of the feasibility report and plans for the future of the centre was well attended, with a good mixture of local members and Community Counsellors. An interesting and encouraging talk was given by Elfyn Davies from Carmarthen, on the success they have had with their own community. There was also a talk and demonstration from Age Concern, on Nordic Walking. And with two volunteers to be trained shortly, we hope to have a walking group ready to explore the local area throughout the summer.
After a buffet tea, discussion groups were formed, where the next steps toward securing the school for the use of the community were put forward and an action plan was formed. The afternoon was a success, made more enjoyable by Wales’ win at rugby.
The development committee would like to thank Anter Teifi, Cynnal and all the members and Counsellors that took part in such a positive and forward thinking launch.
St David’s Day Celebrations
Come and join us on the 5th of March for a celebration with Angharad Fychan’s Choir ABC, followed by a Welsh tea. You may be aware that Trefeurig has been asked to contribute £7,000 towards the Urdd National Eisteddfod to be held in Ceredigion in 2010. Angharad Fychan and the Community Committee have decided to donate all proceeds form the St. David’s Day event, as Trefeurig’s contribution. Please come and support. Donations can be made via Mr Bryn Walker, Tresurer. Entrance Adults - £1.50 Children and senior citizens £1.00 – Raffle to be drawn on the night.
Drumming.
The last drumming session will be held on the 12th of March. These sessions have been so successful with up to 20 people of all ages taking part. Our thanks to Zoë for being patient and persevering in keeping the group together, teaching us two main rhythms over the six weeks. The group has sounded almost professional at times. The group have enjoyed the sessions so much that they would like to continue after Easter. There will be a small charge per session, but if you would like to have a go and would like to be part of the group this is your last chance to join. More information will be available in the next news letter

Farewell and welcome.
We say farewell to John and Llinos Evans - Cartrefle, who have been faithful members of the community for many years. We wish them well in their new home in Waun Fawr. Please keep in touch and visit us from time to time.
As a community we are pleased to welcome the new family who have recently moved into Cartrefle, and wish them well in their new home.
GWR + Poetry.
On March the 19th we are pleased to be having a talk by Mr Terry Couling on ‘The Great Western Railway’. Terry has also been requested to read more of his poetry, as seen on film recently at the Arts Centre.
Trefeurig Show AGM.
Dear friends of Trefeurig Show.
Another year is here. May I take this opportunity to thank everyone for all their support and help over the years. Without you there would not be a local show.
We did have some feedback from the judges last year that the finishing off of some items could be a little neater and that the size of some of the exhibits were not as specified in the schedule. Having said that, the Judges were greatly impressed with all the exhibits from both adults and children alike.
With the uncertainty of the school building, could we make this year’s show even better?
With heart felt thanks from everyone.
Eileen Rowlands - Chair.
